Leeds United will largely be pleased so far this season as their start to the 2024/25 Championship season has been quite solid. Though they began the campaign with a high-scoring 3-3 draw against Portsmouth, followed by a 0-0 stalemate with West Brom. The team then found form with wins over Sheffield Wednesday (2-0) and Hull City (2-0) to position themselves competitively in the top six early in the season.
September saw Leeds continue to build momentum, securing wins against Coventry (3-0) and Cardiff (2-0). However, they faced a setback against Burnley in a tight 1-0 home loss. October was largely positive, highlighted by a crucial 2-0 victory over Sheffield United, and despite some tough draws with teams like Sunderland and Bristol City, Leeds stayed in the mix at the top of the table but somewhat regretting missed opportunities in those draws and worrying about the impacts of injuries to the likes of Ethan Ampadu, Ilia Gruev and Largie Ramazani who picked up an injury against Watford after scoring the opener in the 2-1 win.
But this start to the season has highlighted why Leeds may need reinforcements.
