Leeds United has reportedly reignited interest in former Liverpool forward Ryan Kent. Fenerbahçe terminated Kent’s contract in only under two seasons after signing the Englishman.
The Whites have been linked with Ryan multiple times now. It is only natural that The 49ers are rumoured to be planning a move for the former Rangers winger after the contract termination.
According to The Sun, multiple clubs are interested in swooping the former England U20 international. The newspaper outlet has claimed that Leeds United are also on the list of suitors.
The winger had a tough time adapting to José Mourinho’s tactics. Naturally, the Special One told Kent to leave the club this summer but the Englishman refused to comply.
There were offers from Scotland, England and Saudi Arabia as Leeds United were also rumoured to sign the winger this summer. Following the departure of Crysencio Summerville, The 49ers were left with no key man up front.
Having previously gained praise from Jürgen Klopp, Leeds United were keen on adding the forward to their lineup. However, as reported, the forward refused a move away from Turkey.
Kent played for Rangers before his move to Turkey and was a key player in the club’s Premiership-winning campaign. He scored 33 goals and made 56 assists for the Scottish giants before the move.

What Ryan Kent can add to Leeds United?

Ryan Kent has been underwhelming at Fenerbahçe
Ryan Kent’s time in Turkey was underwhelming, to say the least. The Englishman made a total of 19 appearances for The Yellow Canaries with only three goal contributions.
He mostly played in the Conference League last season. Kent’s stint at the Şükrü Saracoğlu is the total opposite of what he achieved at The Ibrox.
Currently Leeds United are short in the back and the middle. Defender Maximilian Wöber is out due to a knee injury sustained during his time with the Austrian national football team.
Daniel Farke might be in for a midfielder who can also play defence as any more injuries in defence will mean The 49ers looking for another free agent.
The midfield scenario is worse with only two first-team options available. There have been multiple rumours but no deal has been signed yet. This is a priority for Daniel Farke and thinking about Ryan Kent will only come after the club secures a free agent in these prospects.
Ryan Kent can still add to the frontline despite the options. Scoring 15 goals in the first nine games hasn’t deemed the club enough for promotion. Hence, adding another goal-scoring threat might prove to be a good decision for the club’s promotion prospects.
