Leeds United revive interest in Everton star – club board seem to have made a decision

Leeds United seem to have refocused on improving specific areas of the squad this summer. The club seem to have some priorities to sort out in the short term first.

It looks like moving some players is the main concern in these next few days. Illan Meslier still has not found a new club, which means more options need to be explored. While the trio of Joe Gelhardt, Darko Gyabi and Sam Greenwood are nowhere near finding a new club. Don Goodman recently weighed in on Gelhardt’s situation, telling the Whites that selling the forward may be more difficult like expected.

Recent reports suggest that the club have once again set their sights on adding another striker to the team. It has already been discussed that Joel Piroe will not be depended on as the main goalscoring option next season.

Leeds are now set to revive interest in a familiar target this summer. Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that the Whites have set their sights on Beto once again. The Whites are said to want the striker as they feel he is the perfect profile to lead the line.

The 27-year old has two years left on his deal in Merseyside, but reports believe that a fee around £21million could be enough to tempt Everton.

Leeds have now made a new number nine a priority and will be submitting an offer in the next few weeks.

Great ambition by the club

It is a good thing that Leeds have finally focused on adding a new striker. Waiting on free agents like Jamie Vardy and Callum Wilson would have dragged on. Regardless of if the club sign Beto or not, how quick they move will determine their other business during this window.

Fans will also be pleased that Paraag Marathe stuck to his word.
