Leeds United are set for a massive shake up in the next couple of weeks after a big change was made recently.
Since 2020, a lot of transfers have been made by the club and the number of successes have been marginal. From instant successes like Ethan Ampadu to players who barely kicked a ball at the club, like Sam Greenwood, a lot of money has been wasted.
The summer of 2022 when Jesse Marsch was in charge saw one of the most polarizing transfer windows Leeds have had in recent years. Red Bull products Tyler Adams, Max Wober, Rasmus Kristensen and Brenden Aaronson were bought for around €80million. Luis Sinisterra and Georginio Rutter were also bought in that window.
Two years later, only two remain at the club; the rest have either been sold or are out on loan.

Major shakeup set to happen in Leeds United recruitment
Gretar Steinsson left his Technical Director role at Leeds United to join 49ers Enterprises as executive global football structure. Steinsson lasted just over a year in his role before the 49ers moved him up the ladder.
The club’s owners also made the decision to not replace him, as they felt the recruitment team was already well equipped to do the job. Steinsson will also remain a key influence in Leeds United transfers even in his new role.
Now The Athletic report that Jordan Miles has also left his role as Head of Recruitment. Miles joined Leeds United this February after similar roles at Aberdeen, West Ham United, Derby County and Ipswich Town.
He will be the latest to move in a reshuffle of the recruitment team. Alex Davies, who was Head of Scouting, has been moved up to replace Miles as Head of Recruitment. Davies had spent over 13 years at Leeds United as an analyst.
Adam Underwood and Nick Hammond will remain in their roles as head of football operations and club transfer consultant respectively.
What do these changes mean for the club?
The 49ers made these moves to just streamline the team involved in the club’s transfers. Leeds United will now have less people involved in decision making when it comes to signing players.
The biggest change will be to the players Leeds will sign in upcoming windows. Jordan Miles infamously preferred a data driven approach to his targets, so it will be interesting to see who the club signs moving forward.
The midfield will be the key area to strengthen this January, with Leeds already been linked to this Premier League star.
