Leeds United are set to suffer two major blows in succession after the latest news this week. The club had planned to end their spending with signing a few players this month.
The priority involved adding a winger and a striker. Leeds’ major targets were Igor Paixao and Rodrigo Muniz. After long back and forth, and waiting game with Feyenoord, the Brazilian winger chose to join Marseille this summer. Leeds thought they had the deal wrapped up at the last minute.
Rodrigo Muniz could fall out of Leeds’ clutches too, as reports suggest that Fulham will offer him a new contract this summer:
“It’s not news that intermediaries are doing the work. Fulham remain in talks over a new deal, however.
“They still want to keep him, but until they get the new deal signed, it’s not going to stop other people offering him elsewhere. He’s a good Premier League striker with a high ceiling. He’s still quite young, so he’s going to get linked around.”

In response to the news concerning Muniz, Leeds have reportedly sought out an alternative. The club are now eyeing a move for Everton striker Beto. The 27-year old was one of the major targets for Leeds earlier this summer, but he slid down the list of options. According to Graeme Bailey, a move for the striker could be on the cards:
“From what I’m told, I still don’t think Beto’s completely off Leeds’ list and off the table.
“I still think Everton are looking at other strikers as well, so if they brought another one in, Beto might still be an option. I wouldn’t rule him out at all. He’s still on the radar and a work in progress still, even if he’s not Leeds’ first-choice.”
Everton could be open to sell
David Moyes recently spoke about his club being slow when it comes to transfers. The toffees let go of so many players, but are struggling to bring in some new faces. Leeds could tempt them with a good offer for Beto.
The striker’s place in the team is under question after Everton signed Thierno Barry from Villarreal.
Beto can lead the line next season
He did not score many goals, but his output for Everton last season was very evident. When he plays, he fights for every ball and relentlessly hunts down opposing defenders.

Beto is also great in the air, and a good finisher when the chance lands on his plate. He would do well in this Leeds United team under Daniel Farke.
