Over a week in the summer transfer window and it looks like Leeds United mean business. Reports have really shown that the club are keen on maximizing this summer.
Just last week, Leeds have already began to move players out of the squad. The Whites have put Illan Meslier, Max Wober among other players up for sale. The club are keen to move on from some players quickly as they align the rest of their plans for the transfer window.
This week has seen an ambitious bid for Senegalese international Habib Diarra. The Strasbourg star made an impression across England this week as he scored against the Three Lions in an international friendly.

The Whites have seen their initial bid for Udinese defender Jaka Bijol turned down this week. According to reports, both sides are quite far apart in valuation, but Leeds are confident a deal can be completed.
A £17million fee will reportedly be enough to seal a deal for the Slovenian international. According to Corriere dello Sport (via MOT Leeds News), Inter Milan are also in the race to sign the 26-year old. But as of now, Leeds are in the driving seat, with the defender keen on a move to England. Bijol mentioned last week that he is ready to make the ‘next step’ in his career after over three years at Udinese.
Bijol deal shows ambition
Before the window opened, Leeds fans were anticipating big moves. But the start of the transfer window has shown the club means business. Trying to sign one of the best defenders in Europe’s top five leagues as a newly promoted club is a bold move. Leeds’ bid for Habib Diarra also shows that the ownership is confident in their ability to attract players.
Leeds made it to the top flight and are chasing players that top clubs in the league are expected to. Hopefully this gives a huge boost to the fans ahead of this season.
