Leeds United complete major signing

Leeds United have been at the centre of a transfer storm in recent days but they may now have got their man.

A need to recruit quickly emerged when Leeds United lost multiple stars to injuries in the middle of the park. If losing their captain Ethan Ampadu was not bad enough, things only got worse when Ilia Gruev also went down with an injury.

These losses sparked reports that Leeds United were interested in Liverpool ace Tyler Morton but he would only be available in January. Leeds United ideally need players now hence the need to bring in a free agent.

Speaking recently, Daniel Farke admitted the need to bring in a midfielder immediately saying: “We still need one [a midfielder] because the next game is Tuesday. A lot of rest for us by our standards. We have to stay awake with the options out there, with centre-backs too. Thank God, Max is coming back, but he has missed a lot of football. Yellow cards too. We need depth. If there is a chance, we will do it.

“If we find a perfect fit, physical player who covers two positions, adds experience, that would be beneficial.”

He then added before the Watford game that a move for a midfielder was “closer” saying:

“A bit closer, latest by the end of the next week we will have a decision made but it can happen quick and let’s see.”

Leeds United set to announce the signing of French midfielder

The midfielder Leeds United seem destined to bring in is seven-time France international Joshua Guilavogui. The former Atletico Madrid star has been a free agent since his contract with Mainz expired at the end of last season and the 34-year-old would bring masses of experience to the side having made over  250 appearances in the Bundesliga for VfL Wolfsburg even becoming their club captain.

Over the weekend, the possibility of his arrival increased dramatically with the Frenchman pictured in the city and yesterday (October 22nd) it was reported that Leeds United were close to agreeing a short term deal for Guilavogui to keep him at the club until the end of the season and now that deal is near completion with the club set to announce his arrival soon.

This seems even more certain after the midfielder was pictured at Elland Road again during the win against Watford and now that Fabrizio Romano has reported the news himself.
