Leeds United set to complete two signings before transfer deadline – Daniel Farke

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke spoke to the press on Thurday ahead of the game against Newcastle on Saturday. The Whites are not in the best of form after suffering two defeats.

The previous outings against Arsenal and Sheffield Wednesday midweek did not pan out well. Mikel Arteta’s side put five goals past Leeds, while the Whites suffered a shock defeat in the EFL cup midweek. The club have a huge chance to bounce back in front of a home crowd on Saturday when they take on the Magpies. Eddie Howe’s side could miss up to five first team players due a mix of injury and suspensions.

Leeds also have some problems of their own, as star midfield duo Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka have been ruled out till the international break.

James Justin was the latest player signed by the club. Since Monday, Leeds have been working on getting some players out of the door. Largie Ramazani and Isaac Schmidt are just steps away from sealing their departures to Valencia and Werder Bremen respective.

Daniel Farke said that two more attackers could be signed before the deadline closes, when he was asked about possible transfers this weekend.

”We have allowed Largie and Isaac to travel for talks with other clubs. Not confirmed yet but we expect this will happen. My focus is to strengthen offence, how realistic, it makes no sense to give you a percentage but we’re looking forward to strengthen offence a bit more. If it’s one or two more we will see, whatever is possible. We want the best possible squad and everyone is working hard.”

The Leeds boss replied after the question asked about the departures of Ramazani and Schmidt.

Was it the right choice to let Ramazani go?

Purely from watching him play in spells last season, the Belgian offered something much more different from the core of Leeds’ wingers. He is incredibly fast, can beat his man and is decent at finishing. With him gone, the goal threat in the team, now that Jack Harrison will be a regular, has greatly reduced.

Hopefully Leeds can recruit some top names in attack before the transfer window closes.
