Leeds United have spent just £30million on four signings this summer. This has lead to frustration within some parts of the fanbase.
The Whites missed out on Habib Diarra as they refused to match Sunderland’s bid of £30million. Days later, another Leeds target was snapped up by the Black Cats – Noah Sadiki. The former Union Saint-Gilloise man held talks with the Whites before making his decision to move.
Daniel Farke has been able to bolster the squad depth while adding quality. Jaka Bijol and Gabriel Gudmundsson will definitely come in as starters, while Sebastiaan Bornauw and Lukas Nmecha will sign

On Tuesday, Leeds star Dan James put pen to paper on a new four-year contract.
The winger was rewarded for his performances over the last two years under Daniel Farke. Leeds now have his experience on hand as they prepare their return to the Premier League.
How a new contract gave club £10M boost
Per LUFC Charts on X, Daniel James’ new contract allows the club to amortize his contract and spread the cost. The Welshman joined Leeds for £25million in 2021/22. So in the club’s accounts, he cost £7.7million of the club’s annual PSR budget.
Clubs now like to spread the cost of transfers smartly due to the new PSR rules.

With James signing a new four-year deal, his amortised book value of £5million has now been stretched across the next four years. So until 2029, the player now costs just around £1.25million of Leeds’ annual PSR budget. This has now freed up £3.75million per year in the club’s old figures for the Welshman – so technically about £10million they can spend on transfers and/or wages.
Who could be sold to boost PSR this summer ?
Looking at the current Leeds squad, some players stand out as options to be sold for profit that counts towards PSR. The biggest name here would be Pascal Struijk. The defender joined the club on a low fee as a youngster and has now developed into a fine first team player. Struijk is now club captain, and has already caught the eye of some European clubs. His sale would make some generous profit for the Whites.
Mateo Joseph is another option, similar to Struijk he joined the club as a youngster. With clubs around Europe eyeing him for a move. Leeds could easily get a fee around £12million – a number they put to Real Betis in January.
Leeds could also make a profit off Wilfried Gnonto if they ever decide to sell the Italian. He was bought four just £4million and his value has skyrocketed beyong that.
Leeds transfer have been cautious up to now as for selling players one or two will move on but Gnonto is worth more at Leeds than a quick sale remember these kind of players got Leeds up who to say they wont cut it in the Premior
