Saturday was the perfect day for Leeds United fans. Just over a week after sealing their place in the Premier League, the club won the league title in the most dramatic way possible.
Heading into the final day of the season, the Whites were level on points with Burnley. But the superior goal difference meant that Daniel Farke’s side had a little cushion on the day. Leeds were without Dan James and Junior Firpo, as both missed out due to injury.
The game got off to the worst start possible when Sam Byram, deputizing for Firpo, put the ball into his own net. Leeds went into half time 1-0 down. But they came out flying in the second half, with Wilfried Gnonto getting the equalizer just after half time.
Manor Solomon then made his most important contribution this season, as he picked up the ball on the edge of the box to score a stoppage-time winner.

Leeds United could be on the end of EFL fine

The goal sent the away end into a frenzy, leading both players and fans swarming the corner of Home Park. The substitutes had poured off the bench to go and join the first team in celebrations with 91 minutes on the clock. After the frenzy died down, Solomon was given a yellow card. The game ended a few minutes after.
Former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett explained that the celebrations during the goal could cause Leeds to be fined:
“The authorities will not be happy with the Subs running on the pitch,” Hackett said to MOT Leeds News.
“The matter will be reported, and a fine is on its way.”
Fine will not be a concern for the club
After lifting the Championship trophy, and hitting 100 points in the league, nothing can take that moment away from the players and the fans. The club would gladly pay the fine after the season they have had.
The away fans will remember the goal, and those celebrations for a long time.

It should be a concern to the club and indeed all who follow football that Football authorities and the EFL in particular appear to have little regard for the passion of football and its followers.
Of course everyone concerned with the club is going to celebrate a last minute goal to win the Championship – what harm does it do?
The Leeds supporters there also had every right to celebrate having travelled over 300 miles for a 12.30 kick off. Similarly Hull and QPR supporters had huge distances for an early kick off – thanks EFL. In the season how many Leeds games were rearranged for early or late kick offs on Suddays or Mondays? Thanks EFL.
I note that Hacket appears not to have commented on the goal wrongly disallowed for offside or the potentially injury threatening tackle on Ampadu.
Pathetic that the EFL have nothing bettér to do than fine our club
