Daniel Farke made it clear that the midfield needs reinforcements after the injuries to Ampadu and Gruev, and now he could be getting his wish. According to Graeme Bailey, Leeds have set their sights on Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill. The 28-year old is out of contract in the summer, and it looks like he does not plan to renew his deal at Turf Moor.

Graeme Bailey believes Leeds are in the race for Brownhill, but a lot of factors would depend on Premier League football:

“Josh Brownhill is a player Leeds have liked for a long time, and the fact he is out of contract next summer is something they are well aware of. Brownhill is having a great season in the Championship and he would really be of interest to Leeds going forward.

“Leeds know that the only way they would be in the conversation is if they get promoted, which could count against them as foreign clubs, including Celtic and Rangers, could agree a pre-contract before Leeds have the chance to make an official offer.”

Brownhill is quietly having a good season at Turf Moor, the midfielder has scored five goals this season and is the club’s top scorer.

Brownhill would be a huge signing

If Leeds do pull this off, they will have a solid midfielder who can add goals to the team. Brownhill has a lot of experience in the Premier League and Championship too. Guaranteeing Premier League football would be tough, but with how Leeds are playing this season it could be a reality soon. Meanwhile, the club have also been linked with this Premier League star in January.
