Leeds United set to sign next Erling Haaland

Born in Leeds when his dad plied his trade at Elland Road, many had hoped that Manchester City star Erling Haaland would one day star for the club.

Haaland was soon on the radar of the biggest clubs in the world however such was his early promise. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told Manchester United to sign him back in 2019 but three years later Haaland was heading to the other side of Manchester to join the Premier League Champions.

The son of former Leeds United man Alfie Haaland, the striker has torn up records with his goal scoring in the Premier League helping City to two Premier League titles, making it four in a row, as well as starring in their treble winning season back in 2022/23.

However, he had a planned rise to the top detouring through the Red Bull set up which Leeds United are now part of.

Haaland first caught the eye when he was starring for RB Salzburg, even scoring at Anfield in the Champions League as he announced himself to English fans for the first time against Liverpool.

He then joined Dortmund before making the big move to Manchester City in 2022. The Red Bull set up has proven brilliant at producing top tier players in recent years, and now Jurgen Klopp is involved, that will likely only improve.

Leeds United could now benefit from their involvement in the Red Bull set up as another striker looks to emulate Haaland’s rise. Like Haaland, Adam Daghim comes from a Scandinavian background. Haaland hails from Norway and Daghim from Denmark, and like Haaland Daghim has huge potential with the teenager also possessing the physical attributes to make it big time.

The electric forward is now being tipped to join Leeds United to replace Patrick Bamford who reportedly “wants to leave.” He will be hoping to be the next Haaland, becoming the latest forward to leave Salzburg to begin forging a career breaking into the top European leagues and he certainly has the potential to enhance Leeds’ forward options.

According to reports, the 49ers could back the move with Leeds United set to be ready to sign the young forward who was recently linked with Dortmund and Manchester United. It would be a major coup if the Whites can get it over the line as reports suggest they will.

Leeds have also been linked to a Liverpool ace which you can read about here.
