Leeds United set to suffer huge blow as West Brom are keen on keeping England U21 star – Everton are also contenders

As of now, there is a very high chance Leeds United end up missing out on a deal for Manor Solomon. The winger returned to his parent club at the end of his loan deal.

Multiple reports also suggest that new boss Thomas Frank is willing to give Solomon a chance to fight for his place in the first team. The 25-year old was a big part of why the club won the Championship, as he scored the winner on the final day.

Solomon’s departure leaves the squad depth a bit thin in wide areas. Dan James, Wilfried Gnonto and Largie Ramazani are currently the only first team options. Leeds are currently working on a deal for Feyenoord winger Igor Paixao.

This week, there were reports that Leeds were interested in signing West Brom youngster Tom Fellows.

The winger was tied for the most assists in the Championship last season. No approach has been made yet, but the belief is that the Baggies will fight to keep the youngster at the club. Leeds have just three first team wingers in the squad heading into the Premier League, and could add Fellows to that this summer.

Insider shares what could happen with West Brom star

Fellows is attracting a lot of interest. He was part of the England U21 squad that won the European Championships. His stock is very high, but West Brom coach Ryan Mason has said he will keep the youngster at the club.

Paul Robinson believes that the player will move this summer:

“He was heavily linked with a move in January,” he told Football Insider.

“The fact that West Brom were just on the tip of the playoffs and had an opportunity towards the end of the season didn’t help his cause in terms of getting away.

“He’s 21, and if you look at his attacking stats this season in terms of goals and assists, 14 assists is incredible in a team that finished ninth in the Championship.

“The key now will be what impact Ryan Mason has on keeping hold of players.

“Coming in there, he’s not going to want to lose his better players.

“Tom Fellows is contracted until the end of next season, and I’m sure talks will be going on behind the scenes to tie him to a new deal and keep him.

“The thing is for West Brom, the price might be too much.”

Tom Fellows is an interesting player

The England star is an orthodox wide player, and would fit very well in the Leeds United squad. The reason he had so many assists last season was because of how good of a crosser he is. Fellows is able to pick players out in the box with ease.

If Leeds get that kind of service next season, it would be a huge boost to the attack.
