Daniel Farke is already working behind the scenes for new additions for Leeds United ahead of the January window.
The German coach reportedly has significant influence in transfers over the past year. Farke is believed to have been behind the signing of Ao Tanaka, who has been one of Leeds’ best players this season.
However, Farke did not get his ideal number 10 after failed attempts to sign Fabio Carvalho and Gus Hamer. Leeds will go into the winter window with midfield and attack being key priorities. The injuries to Largie Ramazani, Ethan Ampadu and Illia Gruev have left the Leeds squad a bit light, but the club is set to address this in the coming weeks.
Let’s take a look at what could possibly be the best outcome of this transfer window for Leeds United.

Leeds United sign Dennis Cirkin on a permanent deal
Leeds could need a new left back in the coming months, after Junior Firpo continues to remain silent on his future at Elland Road. The defender’s current deal is up next summer, and he will be free to enter negotiations with other clubs from January.
Sam Byram, who has been the backup left back is also set to leave the club when his deal runs out next year. Daniel Farke seems reluctant to fully trust new signing Isaac Schmidt, so it looks like Leeds will need a long term replacement. Sunderland left back Dennis Cirkin is the ideal replacement for Firpo, the English defender is young and attacking minded. He scored five goals from left back a few seasons ago and continues to be one of the best fullbacks in the division. Cirkin’s price tag is rumored to be around £15million with Leeds seriously interested.
Manchester City midfielder arrives at Elland Road
Daniel Farke would finally have his creative number 10 if Leeds can pull off a move for James McAtee. The 22-year old has been linked with a move to Elland Road in recent weeks. Pep Guardiola insists the midfielder is a key part of the squad, but McAtee is yet to start a game in the Premier League. Reports claim the Manchester club would be open to a loan deal that could turn permanent in 2025 as they look to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
