Yorkshire Evening Post Reporter Graham Smyth claimed on X, that the West Yorkshire outfit will sign at least three players this summer. Smyth who covers Leeds United for Yorkshire Evening Post said that the club will need a winger, full-back, attacking No.8 and a No.10 provided they aim for a promotion.

“Winger, FB, an attacking 8 and a 10. Or a player who can play 8/10. That’s what I think it needs and I think they’ll at least do a winger, a FB and an 8.”

The reporter’s analysis is spot on as many of the positions mentioned need replacements following the departures of big names. On the wings, The Whites’ best player Crysencio Summerville left for the Premier League. West Ham United triggered the Dutchman’s release clause of Ā£25 million and The Hammers have also agreed on additional add-ons subject to conditions. Summerville was a major departure as he had won the EFL Championship Player of the Season for 2023/24.

Another major departure includes midfielder Glen Kamara to Rennes. The Finnish footballer played a pivotal role in Leeds’ midfield. He made 42 appearances in all competitions for the West Yorkshire outfit making substantial contributions to the club. Now, The Whites have to find a new midfielder in order to replace the Finnish international.

To replace Crysencio Summerville and possibly Wilfried Gnonto, Leeds United have identified two wingers who could fit the bill for Daniel Farke. One is Crysenico’s Netherlands U21 teammate and another is a Ā£10 million rated winger at Plymouth Argyle.

NEC Nijmegen’s Sontje Hansen is on Leeds’ radar but the club face stiff competition from Birmingham City. The Blues who are no novices in the Dutch market will be a tough opponent to beat. Another winger is Morgan Whittaker who plays for Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle.

Scottish Premiership side Rangers are also interested in Whittaker’s services. Priced at Ā£10 million, Leeds United have the financial upper hand over the Glasgow-based outfit. For Glen’s replacement Birmingham City midfielder Jordan James and Norwich City playmaker Gabriel Sara have been identified.

The Whites have competition for James’ signature from Premier League outfit Ipswich Town. However, Leeds United have an advantage over Ipswich says FLW’s Mike Gibbs. Gabriel Sara is another playmaker on the radar who is the most expensive player on Leeds’s list this summer. The Brazilian has an asking price of Ā£20 million which will probably be the most expensive transfer for The Whites this summer.
