There has been a trend in recent Leeds United targets this summer. A number of targets that have been linked with a move to Elland Road have been attackers.
The Whites lost Manor Solomon, who returned to Spurs after his loan deal. The 25-year old was one of the club’s best attackers this past campaign. Leeds know they need firepower in their attack. It is part of the reason why rumours involving deals for Jamie Vardy and Callum Wilson have dominated the headlines.

The past month also saw the club linked with targets from outside England. Feyenoord forward Igor Paixao was linked with a shock move to Elland Road, with some outlets indicating he would be open to a move to West Yorkshire.
In a surprising development, sources from the Netherlands have revealed the transfer status of the 24-year old. Dutch journalist Valentijn Driessen has reported that there is ‘zero interest’ in the Brazilian this summer:
“Our friend Paixao. There is no interest in him at all. No Napoli either. They are linked to everyone.” he said on De Telegraaf’s Kick-off Podcast.
This effectively shuts down all rumours involving Leeds attempting to sign the player.

The Premier League needs a lot of quality to survive. Being a newly promoted club is not easy as seen in recent seasons. If you get promoted and do not improve your team, you are very likely to go down. Igor Paixao is a quality attacker and should definitely be the mould of player Leeds need to target.
The Brazilian had 18 goals and 14 assists in all competitions this season as a wide player. Manor Solomon and Dan James were the only Leeds players to provide similar production. Hopefully, the club can recruit quality players ahead of next season.
