Emotional farewell as Farke reflects on Rutter’s Leeds United departure
Daniel Farke confirmed Georginio Rutter’s departure at a press conference before United’s trip to The Hawthorns on Saturday.
“I expect he will leave. It’s not in our hands anymore. The news came out in the afternoon during our prep for the game [at Middlesbrough]. Georgi was aware. I was aware. The players too. [It has been] difficult.”
“Fair play to Georgi for not ruling himself out. He asked to sleep on it overnight and wanted to help us. We tried to convince him, but we must stick to what was signed in the past. Nothing to do with our current owners or chairman.”
-Daniel Farke
The German manager exclaimed that the team got to know this during their preparations for Middlesbrough. He expects the Frenchman to leave and he also showed his appreciation towards Rutter for not getting it out before a match.
Georginio Rutter didn’t rule himself out for the clash against Boro. The gaffer appreciated his efforts to help them over the Carabao Cup clash despite his decision to leave.
This is going to be a big hit for Leeds United following Cyrsencio Summerville and Archie Gray. However, the club will still have chances to amend with big fat fees to use in the transfer market.
