Leeds United star closing in on January exit

Leeds United are planning to spend in the winter transfer window to boost their promotion hopes in the latter half of the season. Daniel Farke wants to bring in reinforcements and press forward their advantage in the race to get back to the Premier League.

The Whites sit third in the Championship standings and are one of the favourites to win automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season.

However, Leeds were in a similar position last season as well before they lost steam towards the end and were eventually beaten in the playoff final against Southampton.

Leeds want to avoid such a scenario this season and the club want to make more money available to Farke to help him have a better squad at the end of the January transfer window.

However, the Whites are now facing the prospect of losing a defender in the winter window with an Austrian club pushing to secure a deal to sign him.

Club make progress in talks to sign the Whites centre-back

Maximilian Wober has played very little football this season and has been linked with a move away from Leeds in the winter window.

Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg are plotting a deal to sign the centre-back in January and take him back to his homeland.

Salzburg recently indicated that his experience could help them in the latter half of the season and according to Salzburger Nachrichten, a deal is under works.

The Austrian giants are in talks with Leeds to sign Wober and it has been claimed that the negotiations are at an advanced stage.

Salzburg are said to be closing in on a deal to sign the defender from Leeds and they are just finalising the details of the agreement.

Wober would be keen on the move if the two clubs reach an agreement as he wants to play more football in the latter half of the season.

It has been claimed that a deal is expected to be agreed upon as Leeds are also prepared to cash in and sell the centre-back in the winter window.
