Leeds United are already working behind the scenes as they prepare for the upcoming transfer market. The club won promotion this season, hit the 100 point mark and also won the league title on the final day.
This comes almost a year since the heartbreak from the playoff final loss to Southampton. Daniel Farke has managed to push this team back to the top, despite losing a whole host of players. Leeds won promotion despite loosing the EFL Championship player of the Year and the EFL Championship Young player of the year. Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray and Georginio Rutter all left Elland Road, but the club still managed to win promotion.
Daniel Farke has done a great job, and his status for next season was confirmed by club chairman Paraag Marathe on Sunday. Leeds can now start work on making changes to the squad this summer.

In the next couple of months, five players in the first team could leave the club at the end of their contracts. Joe Rothwell and Manor Solomon will return to their parent clubs at the end of the season. While the trio of Sam Byram, Junior Firpo and Josuha Guilavogui will leave the club as free agents. Leeds have recently made a decision on Byram’s future.
Junior Firpo missed the final game against Plymouth with an injury, but was very much a part of the title celebrations. The 28-year old has been linked with a return to Spain in the summer, with Ethan Ampadu leading a chant about it during the bus parade.

But Firpo looks to have put that to bed, as later that day he was live on Jayden Bogle’s Instagram asking club chairman Paraag Marathe for a new contract. Bogle was on camera chanting: “sign the ting, sign the ting, Junior Firpo”,
Junior Firpo added, saying “Paraag, send me the ting man” referring to a new contract.
There is still time between now, and June, anything could happen then.
Club should consider renewing Junior Firpo
The left back has been key over the last two campaigns. Firpo has managed to turn his Leeds United career around. When he arrived, he was so bad that fans called for him to be sold. However, dropping down to the Championship has seen him turn into one of the better fullbacks in the country.
In a summer where spending could be tight, Leeds’ best option should be renewing Junior Firpo’s deal.
