Leeds United star issued warning

Just four months into the new season, the recruitment of Leeds United this summer has split opinions at Elland Road.

The club lost a host of key players after losing the Championship playoff final last year. A mass exodus of players followed; Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter were poached by Premier League clubs.

Leeds United reportedly tried to keep Archie Gray at the club and build around him, but the youngster chose a move to the Premier League. Brighton also triggered a release clause in the final hours of the transfer window to sign Rutter, and West Ham paid a big fee for Summerville.

Leeds recruited Joe Rothwell, Isaac Schmidt, Ao Tanaka, Largie Ramazani and Manor Solomon as the club prepared for another promotion charge.

Ao Tanaka has been the standout signing this season, and has formed a solid midfield partnership with another new signing, Joe Rothwell. The duo have been fantastic as they replaced the injured Ethan Ampadu and Illia Gruev.

Largie Ramazani also had a decent start to his Leeds United career, scoring three goals in six starts. The Belgian forward suffered an injury and is now in recovery. Isaac Schmidt has barely played, and has been asked to step up by Daniel Farke.

Manor Solomon won Player of the Match in his first Leeds United game, but it has all been downhill since. Solomon has started just one other game since August, and David Norris has warned that the forward might be on the bench for a while:

“I think I’d be concerned about it a little bit, but wouldn’t be overly panicked.

“If you lose a bit of confidence through his injury or not getting straight back in producing like how he started, it could be quite hard. Especially at a place like Leeds with the demand.” He told MOT Leeds News.

“It feels like he’s lacking that sort of confidence. It doesn’t look like he’s at the level he showed he can perform at, but it’s an area Farke does sometimes have options which helps.”

Solomon has zero goals and just one assist in the league this season. The forward has started just one game in Leeds’ last seven after dropping down the pecking order behind Dan James and Wilfred Gnonto.
