Leeds United spent close to £100million during the summer, but fans were ultimately frustrated with how the window ended. The summer started with a lot of promise as the Whites wrapped up most of their recruitment in time for pre-season.
There were 10 signings in total, but most of them were defenders and midfielders. Daniel Farke asked for attacking pieces, but ended up with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Noah Okafor and Lukas Nmecha. Leeds spent a total of £18million on the attack as the others were free transfers.
It has only recently been revealed by Adam Pope on BBC that the club had the option to sign Manor Solomon, but chose to bring in Okafor in the end.

Okafor took a while before he was integrated into the first team; he had to deal with injuries in the early part of the season. Since his first league start against Fulham, the Swiss international has scored his first goal for the club. He has also shown in flashes the quality he brings out wide. Okafor has amazing dribbling ability and is able to drag Leeds up the field.
Squawka revealed this week that the Leeds winger is in the top 10 for most take-ons completed in Europe’s top five leagues in September.

Okafor sits in seventh place, having completed 10 takeons. He is three spots below Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe, who has completed 15 takeons so far this season.
What Daniel Farke has said about Leeds United star this season
When Leeds signed him in the summer, Farke was very keen on his attributes in attack. He praised the Swiss international for his dribbling:
“He can offer goals and assists; he has delivered a few for AC Milan and scored in the Champions League.
“He’s really good pace and dribbler. Strong player, but I want to let him deliver. He has everything to impress.”
It is very early in the campaign, but with Okafor off the mark, there are a lot of positives around his performances so far.
