Leeds United star receives huge blow to World Cup hopes

Leeds United have a crucial game against Tottenham Hotspurs this weekend. That will be the last game before the October international break which begins on Monday.

Some players in the Leeds team have already gotten their callups, including the Welsh players. Wales boss Craig Bellamy recently addressed Dan James’ injury and spoke on how important Ethan Ampadu is to the national team.

The Whites will have to overcome Spurs at Elland Road before the break. Leeds sit in midtable, and a good result on Saturday could see them in a very good position in the early part of the season.

With the 2026 World Cup taking place next summer, National team coaches are starting to have an idea of who will be in their plans for the tournament. Germany announced their squad for the upcoming international break. Unfortunately Leeds United midfielder Anton Stach missed out on a call up.

The German has had a bright start to the season, with a goal and an assist. Stach has also made 13 key passes this season, which ranks him third overall in the Premier League.

Sport BILD reported that the Leeds star is in the mix to make the Germany squad for the World Cup as of a few months ago. Julian Nagelsmann and his technical team have a list of players just on the outside of the squad knocking on the door which includes Stach.

Daniel Farke sees Leeds United star getting back into National Team fold

When Anton Stach arrived at the club, Daniel Farke mentioned that his performances could get him back into the National team:

“He has already made a few appearances in the German national team, and also, his main topic is to give himself a chance to come close to play in the World Cup, perhaps.

“And for that, he knows he needs to start games in the Premier League and to perform.

“He’s in a great age – this is quite important, although he is experienced with more than 100 Bundesliga games, he’s still on the way up, and has to develop, more or less from year to year.”
