Leeds United bounced back from their defeat to Burnley in the best way possible. On Friday night, in front of their home crowd, they delivered a huge win against West Ham.
Daniel Farke’s side played some of the best football they had this season, as they put the Hammers to the sword early in the first half. Goals from Brenden Aaronson and Joe Rodon were enough to seal all three points even with West Ham scoring a late goal at the end.

The win on Friday was really a statement from the whole team after what happened against Burnley. The Whites were almost flawless on Friday night, and everybody played well. Joe Rodon is pleased with the win, but did not like the fact that Leeds did not get a clean sheet.
“We were not happy with last week so it was important to come out of the traps early and I thought the boys showed great intensity. We are delighted with the 3 points.
“Everything is difficult in this league, we have learned that already in the dying moments of the game.
“We are a bit frustrated to concede at the end, but overall we are delighted to have got those 3 points.
“It’s important to build momentum and make it difficult for teams to come here to Elland Road. I thought everyone, including the subs, made a real impact tonight.”
Rodon has every right to be frustrated by the late goal; it felt like everyone went to sleep for a split second before heading it home. Looking at the expected goals, it was around 0.07 so it was not a chance that should have gone in.

Daniel Farke really needs to have a word with his defence after this game.
Defender is at a different level this season
Daniel Farke has spoken at length about how the team have taken set pieces really serious this season, including bringing on experts. And it seems to be paying off. Joe Rodon has become a real threat from dead balls, something Graham Smyth said Daniel Farke has really worked on with the defender.

In a league like this, every goal counts and the more the merrier. If Rodon can be a source of goals from set-pieces, it is a huge boost for Leeds in the long run.
