Due to the events of last season, Leeds set out to find a new first choice keeper for the Premier League.

The club ended up signing Brazilian Lucas Perri from Lyon. The 27-year old revealed one of the things that won him over was that last league game of the season against Plymouth:

“From the videos I saw, the goal celebrations, especially the last game of the season which was an away game and to see after the parade for the Championship title, to see the atmosphere at Elland Road was something that was really nice to see. I hope that I can experience that soon.” he told YEP.

“I am really looking forward to it. I want to feel the atmosphere, to see the fans, the stadium, I think it will be an incredible opportunity, an incredible stadium to play in and I am really happy that I am here and I am going to play for that.”

Bid for Karl Darlow rejected

There could yet be more shake ups in the goalkeeping department at Elland Road.

It has been revealed this week that a Championship club made an offer to sign Karl Darlow. Leeds rejected the offer, stating that they are okay with keeping the Welshman for next season. Daniel Farke values Darlow’s presence in the team.

Brazilian will likely be first choice next season

All signs point to Lucas Perri being the first choice for the Premier League. Leeds will not continue with Karl Darlow in goal, and Illan Meslier could yet leave the club this summer.

Alex Cairns remains with the team as their reserve goalkeeper.
