Leeds United will be hoping that they can capitalize on Spurs’ slip ups in their last two games when they face off on Saturday. Thomas Frank’s side have hit a few bumps after a fantastic start to the season.
Spurs’ last two games have seen them needing late goals to secure two draws. A late Joao Palhinha goal secured a point away to Wolves; a team Leeds beat with ease. And midweek, Tottenham needed an own goal for a draw away to Bodo/Glimt.
Leeds on the other hand, come into this game full of confidence after their last two results. A huge win over Wolves was followed by an unlucky draw to Bournemouth. Daniel Farke’s side nearly clinched a win on Saturday, but a slip up at the back cost them points.

Karl Darlow has been in goal since the Fulham game, when Lucas Perri picked up an injury. The Welsh keeper has done a great job, and earned a lot of plaudits even when Leeds lost to Fulham. Now, Perri is back to fitness according to Farke:
“Good news is that Lucas Perri is back in team training since yesterday, that’s good news, too early for this game, I expect him on the other side of the break to be available.”
The Leeds boss says the Spurs game might be too early for the Brazilian to start, but it is likely he could be named on the bench. This means, Illan Meslier could find himself outside the first team squad once again. The Frenchman was not involved with the team from the start of the season, but had to be recalled due to Perri’s injury.
What happens to Leeds United star now?
It has become increasingly clear over the past few month that Illan Meslier’s future lies away from Elland Road. The only reason he did not leave this summer was that club’s did not bring in concrete offers. The French stopper also rejected moves where the teams saw him as a backup option.
Recent reports have suggested that Meslier will be a hot topic around the January window, especially with his contract expiring next summer.
