There were a lot of concerns at Leeds United heading into the game against Wolves, the Whites were reeling off the back of a loss to Fulham. And the attack was still not firing.
Leeds had not scored a goal from open play in the league this season. Many fans voiced their frustration with the club’s form during the week. On Saturday, Daniel Farke decided to stick with the same attack from the Fulham game – a trio of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Brenden Aaronson and Noah Okafor.
Wolves got off to a quick start which caught Leeds off guard, netting in the eighth minute of the game. Dominic Calvert-Lewin then equalized, scoring his first goal in Leeds colours. Then the floodgates opened with the Whites adding two more goals in quick succession. Anton Stach hit a beautiful free kick to put the away side in the lead. New signing Noah Okafor then wrapped up a perfect first half performance with a third goal before half-time.

Leeds needed a result and ended up with a big win, and scored three goals in one game. After worrying about failing to score from open play, they were lethal in front of goal on Saturday. Despite the huge results, there was some concern during the game. Mainly concerning Jayden Bogle.
The full back went down after studs landed on his foot. He needed treatment before being taken off late in the game. Beren Cross reported that Daniel Farke does not know the extent of the injury. After the game, the Leeds boss said that the defender would be assessed in the coming days:
“We have to assess him,” Farke said after full-time on Saturday.
“It’s pretty swollen. We will have to assess him.”
Bogle could undergo a series of tests including an X-Ray to determine how serious the problem is.
Injuries could derail Leeds United form
Bogle news could not have come at a worse time, the club is finally putting things together on the pitch. Leeds have missed Lucas Perri these past few games, and Dan James is also on the sidelines. Ao Tanaka and Joel Piroe only participated in full sessions before this weekend.
The revolving door of players in and out of injury is not the club’s fault. But to be consistent, the players need to play games together. Hopefully Bogle’s issue is not serious and he can return to being a crucial part of the first team.
