Leeds United have been busy with signings and departures this summer. The club is working hard on building a team capable of competing in the Premier League.
So far there have been three arrivals at Elland Road this summer: Lukas Nmecha, Sebastiaan Bornauw and Jaka Bijol. All three are evident of the team’s smart recruitment in this window. The Whites are also working on departures, but the only confirmed transfer exit this month has been Max Wober, who has joined Werder Bremen on loan.
One thing that has gone under the radar is the contract situations this summer.

Leeds United star signs new deal

The Whites announced that they would hold talks with Sam Byram and Junior Firpo in hopes of agreeing to new deals, but so far, nothing has happened. Junior Firpo has left the club, after refusing to sign the offer on the table. There has been no update on Sam Byram yet, but there is belief that the defender could stay at the club.
One player who has recently committed his future to the club is Rory Mahady. The 18-year old keeper has signed a new three-year deal with Leeds United. Mahady played a big role in Leeds U21s Premier League 2 campaign, and was a part of the side that won the inaugural National League Cup. His form was so impressive that Scotland promoted him from their U19 set up to the U21s.
Leeds have high hopes for the stopper in the near future.
Dan James could be next
The club are still in talks over a new deal for Dan James. The Welshman is set to be rewarded for his form in the past two years since making his return to West Yorkshire. Multiple reports indicate that the 27-year old will sign a two-year deal.
James had 12 goals last season, and was very important in the middle of the season when Leeds were chasing promotion. Unfortunately, he picked up an injury that ruled him out of the final weeks of the campaign.
