Leeds United are in the market for attacking reinforcements in the winter transfer window. The team need more goals and creativity, and the club are eyeing several targets.
Harry Wilson was ready to join Leeds in the summer, and Leeds thought they had a deal in place to sign him on deadline day before Fulham changed their mind at the last minute.
The Welsh winger has been a solid player for Fulham this season. However, his current deal expires at the end of the season, and a January departure has not been ruled out.
Marco Silva wants to offer the winger a new deal to remove doubts over his future. However, it appears a January exit for Wilson is still very much on the cards.
Leeds United are on red alert as Harry Wilson could still leave Fulham in the January transfer window
Marco Silva wants to hold on to the winger. He has been hopeful that the Welshman will sign a new contract and end all speculation over his future.
However, the Fulham boss conceded that at this moment, he is not aware of any progress being made on talks over a new deal between the club and the winger.
He stressed that he is waiting to hear from the board about Wilson’s future and plans for the January transfer window.
“I don’t have any updates”, when asked about Harry Wilson and the winter window, Silva told reporters in a press conference.
“These types of things, when we have something new, it’s like the others as well.
“When I’m going to have any feedback from the board, we are going to say something to you.”
Wilson will solve a big problem
Wilson’s contract situation means Leeds remain very interested in exploring a deal to sign the winger in the winter transfer window.

Leeds have struggled with options in the wide areas. Daniel James and Wilfried Gnonto have struggled with fitness, which has led to Brenden Aaronson starting on the right flank.
James is expected to be out for the rest of the year. However, the arrival of his Welsh teammate will provide Leeds with another genuine attacking threat on the right-hand side.
Wilson can also play on the left, and Noah Okafor’s muted performances in recent weeks mean the Welshman could also be deployed on the opposite flank.
The Fulham winger is genuinely admired at Leeds, and the recruitment team are keen to get a deal done in January if he doesn’t sign a new contract.
Leeds do not want to miss out on signing a Premier League-experienced winger like Wilson, who is likely to be available for a small fee in January.
