Leeds United suffer setback after latest injury update

Leeds United will face Plymouth Argyle next Saturday, but the Whites could be without two attacking options as injuries continue to plague the squad.

After two consecutive home wins following the international break, Leeds United struggled to score in a 0-0 draw with Bristol City at Ashton Gate. They had previously secured a 2-0 victory over Sheffield United and a 2-1 win over Watford at Elland Road, aiming to carry that momentum on the road against mid-table Bristol City.

Plymouth Argyle are coming off a 3-3 draw with Preston and will be aiming to carry that goal-scoring momentum into their match against Leeds United.

At the press conference, Leeds United manager Farke shared an update on the squad’s injury list, offering some positive news about his defensive options.

“Good news with Max Wober,” Farke told the media. “Since Tuesday, he is back at least in major parts of team training. We still look after him after he was out for I think, five or five and a half weeks. He joined us in team training on Tuesday, Wednesday, and today just the individual session.

“A few question marks behind a few players. One is Joffy, he got a hit on his hip yesterday, so a hip contusion. He was not able to train today, so late decision with him. And two question marks behind Daniel James and Patrick Bamford.

“Dan has some problems with his hamstring again, and Patrick with his adductor, both were not able to train yesterday. They were both involved today in a light session, but the final assessment and the final test is tomorrow in our last session before the game.”

While the Yorkshire side could be without two attacking options, their struggling opponent will be without defender Lewis Gibson for this Saturday’s away game against Leeds United. Gibson is likely to miss the match due to a thigh injury that sidelined him during their 3-3 draw with Preston North End at Home Park.

Moreover, Plymouth will be without Ibrahim Cissoko after the attacker received a straight red card for violent conduct during their 5-0 defeat to Cardiff City a couple of weeks ago, meaning their trip to Elland Road will mark the final match of his three-game suspension.
