Leeds United have had a huge clear out of names since last summer. The last remnants of the club’s erratic transfer policies are still being moved out of Elland Road.
Before the season began, the club let go of a whole host of players. Most notably from two different ”eras” of transfer policies. The likes of Kristoffer Klaesson, Ian Poveda and Cody Drameh departed, these players were part of the policy of signing promising youngsters under Victor Orta.
Players signed under Marcelo Bielsa, and Jesse Marsch were also sold. Mark Roca, Robin Koch and Diego Llorente were a few names among a bunch of exits.

Leeds’ first piece of transfer business this summer may involve Illan Meslier. But now, the club have learned the fate of one of their loanees.
According to Alan Nixon, Preston will not take up the option to buy Sam Greenwood this summer. The 23-year old has been on loan at Deepdale this season. This means that the attacker will most likely be back at Elland Road this summer if nothing happens.
Greenwood has been a regular for Preston, providing eight goal involvements this season (five goals, three assists). But it looks like his performances have not convinced the club enough for a permanent deal. Leeds will have to address his status in the team, as Greenwood has one year left on his contract this summer.
The club need to move on from Sam Greenwood
His stint at Elland Road has been nothing to write home about. Since he arrived for a reported £1.5million fee as a youngster, he has failed to nail down a place in the first team. All the rave reviews he earned before joining Leeds have not been shown on the pitch. Sam Greenwood has barely improved upon his performances last season.

He has similar production in front of goal as he did last year, with just four games left this campaign. Hopefully, the 23-year old can finish this season on a high, and earn a permanent deal somewhere else.
