Leeds United target Conference League star – he will attract big European clubs this summer

Leeds United

Leeds United have on eye on the summer transfer window as the club plan for Premier League promotion. Daniel Farke recently said that he is 100% confident that the Whites will be promoted this season.

With five games to go, the race for promotion is tighter than ever. Leeds got back their foothold at the top of the table midweek. Dan James scored the only goal as Farke’s men left the Riverside stadium with all three points. Leeds found a win hard to come by after three straight draws before beating Middlesbrough.

The club are so close to promotion now. Leeds will hope they take one of the two automatic promotion slots to avoid the play-offs. The Whites had their hearts broken last summer as they lost to Southampton in the play-off final.

Daniel Farke might abandon his preference for a small squad after this year.

Austrian outlet Kronen Zeitung are reporting that Leeds United and Hull City are closely monitoring Austria Vienna midfielder Abubakr Barry. The Gambian international recently joined the Austrian side and is making waves this season. After an impressive stint Bnei Yehuda, the 24-year old moved to Switzerland last year.

Barry has one year left on his deal in Austria and is reportedly drawing interest from clubs in Germany and France. The midfielder scored in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers this season.
