Leeds United made a huge splash on Sunday when they announced their first summer signing. The news broke late in the day, and the deal was confirmed hours later.
It went more under the radar than other transactions in the past. Lukas Nmecha was announced on a two-year deal. The German forward will officially sign for the club next month. But that is just the beginning for Leeds United. A deal for Udinese star Jaka Bijol is also in the works.
But one thing will make Leeds fans happy; the fact that there will be another center forward signed this summer.

Even though a striker seems to be on the list, one player that can confidently be ruled out is Rodrigo Muniz. Fulham slapped a huge £50million price tag on him when Leeds were named as possible suitors. Now, the interest from the Whites seems to have faded.
Lee Hendrie believes that Leeds should only move to sign the Fulham star if the asking price is reduced:
“He could add something to Leeds, he’s a powerful centre-forward, and he’s got goals in his locker for sure, but I think the price tag might steer them away from that. You’re taking a plunge at £50million.” he told Football League World.
“I know these days the fees for strikers are outrageous, and I think £50million might just be out of reach for Leeds. For how good he is, I think Leeds might put this one to the side, unless they can come to some sort of arrangement where they can get a decent price for him, maybe around £35-40million.
“If that happens, I do think Leeds might go all out to try and get him because I do think he could fit in their side. He’s a hungry centre-forward, and that’s the way that Leeds play.”
Leeds need a physical presence up front
With the addition of Lukas Nmecha, it is clear that the club are eyeing similar profiles for the attack. Big, physical players to make the ball stick and cause problems in behind. Joel Piroe does not really offer this, and could be the reason why Leeds are looking to replace him this summer.

Well unless he is coming in on loan we most certainly won’t be signing a 50 m pound player! That would be a full 15 million over our record signing!
