Leeds United have been linked with multiple Southampton players this summer. The Saints being relegated this season means some of their best players are up for grab.
Sometimes as a club in the Championship, you do not have any resistance when clubs from the Premier League come knocking. Leeds experienced this last summer when big clubs raided their squad for Archie Gray, Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville.
The Saints players linked with a move to Elland Road recently include Mateus Fernandes and Aaron Ramsdale. With the Whites needing a first choice keeper, the England international is seen as a prime target. Fernandes was also on the radar for a bit, but Southampton laughed off the valuation from the West Yorkshire club.

The latest Southampton player to be linked with a move to Elland Road is Shea Charles. The 21-year old was a regular for the Saints in the Championship last year, but was loaned to Sheffield Wednesday this past season. Despite his limited production, it is believed that Leeds see him as a potential target for the number 10 role.
Lee Hendrie has tipped Daniel Farke to make a move for Charles this summer:
“Really good player,” he said speaking to FLW.
“I do like what Leeds have got at the moment, squad-wise and squad depth.
“And I think adding stuff like the quality of Shea Charles, I just think that yes 100 per cent it could be a really good addition to that Leeds squad.
“Because I think they are strong contenders to stay up this season, even though it’s been really tough for teams that have been promoted.”
Shea Charles may cost too much
The Northern Ireland international is a very promising talent, but he may stretch Leeds’ transfer budget. And considering the potential shortlist the club has including Gus Hamer and Emi Buendia, it would not be worth overpaying.
Southampton bought Charles for £15million including add-ons. The deal also included a high sell-on clause for Manchester City. Meaning any move for the midfielder would have to involve paying above the initial fee because City will get a percentage on it.
