Leeds United will definitely be active in the January transfer window as they look to boost their chances of promotion.
The Whites are in third place in the league after 15 games. Leeds are just two points behind Sheffield United and Sunderland in the Championship. Fans would consider the team unlucky, as they could have gone into the international break top of the table. But the team failed to beat Millwall away from home.
Daniel Farke has had to deal with a lot of absences this season. He lost his first choice midfield within weeks as both Ethan Ampadu and Illia Gruev suffered serious injuries. The club has had to rely on summer signings Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell, who have done a great job so far.
Leeds also lost Largie Ramazani to a serious ankle injury, but it looks like the Belgian attacker is on course for an early recovery.

Leeds United tipped to sign an attacker in January
This season, no Leeds attacker has scored more than three goals in the league this season. And there has been only one attacker with more than four assists; Wilfried Gnonto. The lack of a creative presence in the team is the reason why the goalscoring tallies are low at the club this season.
Last season, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter carried most of the creative burden of the team. Joel Piroe scored 13 goals as he benefited from the elite attacking play. This season, Brenden Aaronson has been the player in the number 10 role. The American has scored four goals, but has registered one assist so far.
Earlier this summer, Daniel Farke highlighted the need for a creative number 10 to make the team tick:
“It’s never easy when you perhaps don’t have this traditional number 10,” admitted Farke after the closure of the summer window. “But yeah, we decided as a club to go this way. If you don’t have it, then you need to work with other tools. That’s what we’re trying to do.
“Yeah, of course, in the ideal dream world, we would have had also this player right now available, but if we don’t have them, then it’s not about complaining. It’s more like ‘okay, come on, then we work with what we’ve got’. And I’m excited to work with this exciting young group.”
Which attacker could the club sign in January?
The club have been heavily linked with Ryan Kent. The former Rangers player has eight assists in his last full season of football. Kent’s dribbling and creativity could provide a huge boost to the Leeds United squad as they seek Premier League promotion.
