Leeds United tipped to make double transfer swoop

Leeds United were expected to struggle at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Leeds made unwanted history when they became arguably the best Championship team ever to miss out on promotion and things only got worse when they failed to achieve promotion via the play-offs.

They lost to Southampton at Wembley losing 1-0 to the Saints proving unable to score against the now Premier League side.

It was expected that they could lose a number of top stars going into the 2024/25 season and that did came to pass with Archie Gray leaving for Tottenham Hotspurs on a deal until 2030.

But they were able to make smart and savvy signings such as bringing in Largie Ramazani and Jayden Bogle, and according to reports they may be set to make a double transfer swoop as soon as the January transfer window.

Leeds United have been linked with a number of major signings lately. One of the most common links has been former Liverpool and Rangers forward Ryan Kent.

Since he became a free agent he has been linked with a move to Elland Road, especially after their previous links to the forward with Kent linked with a move to Elland Road back in 2021.

Reports in The Sun, suggested that Leeds were interested in completing a move for him though faced competition from the likes of Leyton Orient.

Meanwhile, Leeds have also been linked with a move for former Nottingham Forest man Lewis O’Brien who is currently on loan in the MLS with Los Angeles FC.

The former Huddersfield Town man made his name in West Yorkshire during Huddersfield’s days in the Premier League and has now been linked with a move to Elland Road.

Now according to reports Leeds could be interested in a double transfer swoop for both Kent and O’Brien to bolster their squad in January to help with their ambitions of returning to the Premier League at the end of the season and righting the wrongs of the heart breaking 2023/24 campaign.
