Leeds United were active in selling players this summer as the squad was shaped for this season.
Archie Gray, Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville were some of the big names that departed Elland Road this summer.
Despite losing key pieces, Daniel Farke has the team flying so far, the Whites are second in the Championship. After a 3-0 win over Plymouth this weekend, the team is full of confidence.
Leeds United loanee will be available on a bargain deal
Rasmus Kristensen joined Frankfurt on a season loan, after not being in the first team plans this season. The Bundesliga club had been monitoring the Danish international for years according to club board member for sport Markus Krösche:
“We were interested in Rasmus as far back as three years ago and are delighted that it’s now worked out. We had very good talks and sensed that he absolutely wanted to come to us. Rasmus is a robust, tough-tackling player, who’s an out-and-out right-back but can also play at centre-back.”
After just eight starts in the league, Frankfurt are already looking to sign the defender. But the €15million price tag by Leeds is the only thing standing in their way. According to Ben Jacobs, Leeds failing to win promotion to the Premier League could mean Kristensen will be available at a lower price next summer.
It is very unlikely Kristensen returns next summer
The Danish international has been out on loan for the past two seasons, since Leeds were relegated. I think it has been made quite clear where the player’s future lies. Unlike Brenden Aaronson who returned from loan and has been an integral part of the team under Daniel Farke, there is no sign Kristensen could follow that path.
Leeds are stacked defensively, with Rodon, Struijk and Wöber at center back. Jayden Bogle has also nailed down the right back spot. If Kristensen does return he has a huge task on his hands to even get back into the squad.
Daniel Farke is in the market for midfielders, and has set his sights on this Premier League midfielder who wants out of the club.
