Leeds United have accelerated business in the last few days. The club started the transfer window with their plans to offload some players.
Illian Meslier and Max Wober are the two big names from the first team to be made available for sale. The club has also decided to move on from the trio of Joe Gelhardt, Darko Gyabi and Sam Greenwood this summer. The three players are expected to fetch a nice profit that will count towards PSR.
In the past few hours, Wrexham have been linked with a move for Joe Gelhardt, and could push for a deal this summer.

The Whites have been engaged in talks to sign Jaka Bijol from Udinese over the past week. Leeds are keen to bolster their defence, and with the possible departure of Max Wober, an extra body was needed at the back. The first bid from Leeds was rejected, but both sides are still locked in talks to complete the deal.
There have now been two huge updates from Italy. Journalist Orazio Accomando has reported that a deal for the Slovenian international could be completed in the next few days. He also added that there will be a meeting in England soon.

Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that a deal has been reached between both clubs for £18million including add-ons. A medical is expected to take place soon.
Massive coup for the club
Signing one of Serie A’s best players is a huge statement for Leeds United. A newly promoted team having this kind of reach is a big thing. Just like back in 2020, when the Whites were able to snap up Raphinha and Rodrigo Moreno, a similar situation could repeat itself this summer.
It is not often that newly promoted clubs are able to sign big name players, but the 49ers have delivered.
