Leeds United to consider transfer swoop after gutting blow

Leeds United have been linked with another transfer, but it is not one Leeds United fans wanted to see.

Leeds have been at the centre of a transfer storm lately after the injury situation in the midfield reached fever pitch. Daniel Farke will have been disappointed to see captain Ethan Ampadu go down with a long term injury but this was made even worse by the loss of midfield partner Ilia Gruev.

Fortunately for Farke, two men have stepped up in their absence. Both Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell have played brilliantly since these injuries emerged. However, it was clear that reinforcements were needed given the number of games in the Championship. So, the club moved to the free agent market and found French international and Bundesliga star Josuha Guilavogui, in a smart move.

They might not be finished recruiting in the midfield either, with links resurfacing between Leeds and Liverpool youngster Tyler Morton, but just like injuries prompted the need to recruit in midfield, a new injury could reportedly lead to Leeds United making a move further up the field.

Leeds United set to sign forward

BOSTON, MA – JULY 21: Liverpool FC midfielder Ryan Kent (40) during the second half of the International Friendly, Länderspiel, Nationalmannschaft soccer game between Liverpool FC and Sevilla FC on July 21, 2019

During the win over Watford, the early stages saw Leeds’ attacking options dominate with Largie Ramazani scoring an early goal to get Leeds on their way.

However, everything seemed to go wrong when Ramazani went off with an ankle injury, with Daniel Farke confirming that he was likely to miss out against Bristol City. However, the news seems it could be worse than Leeds fans feared with Ramazani posting “I’ll be back…” on Instagram hinting at a potentially serious injury.

On top of this, Leeds Live seem to believe that it could be serious injury reporting that Leeds United could consider a transfer for a forward in the January transfer window to offset the injury to Ramazani.

This comes as Leeds United are linked with former Liverpool forward Ryan Kent with a boost in their potential pursuit of the former Rangers forward coming with Rangers reportedly reducing their interest in him. Could he be called upon to replace Ramazani?
