Leeds United to do battle with European giants for midfielder

A big summer awaits Leeds United. Following further investment in the club and a successful first season back in the Premier League everything seems to be heading in the right direction for the Yorkshire side.

Some huge names have been linked with the club in recent weeks. In fact, Leeds are among the favourites to sign prodigy Eduardo Camavinga and bizarre, perhaps overly hopeful, links with Erling Haaland persist with Jermain Beckford even imploring the striker to come to Elland Road following his Champions League performance last night.

Leeds will have to battle European giants to bring either of those players to Elland Road next season and the same could be said for reported Leeds target Romain Faivre.

The Brest midfielder is having a superb campaign in Ligue 1. He’s made 28 appearances in the league and has managed 5 goals and 3 assists for a team struggling in 13th place.

His form has sparked interest around Europe and especially in Germany. German giants Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund are both said to be pursuing a deal for the midfielder whilst Leeds United continue their interest in the Frenchmen.

Brest are said to be reluctant to allow the player to leave however their sporting director Gregory Lorenzi has admitted that every player has a price and the midfielder could very well follow in the footsteps of Ibrahima Diallo who headed off to Southampton in the summer.

Reports suggest that it would take more than the £12.8 million it took to sign Diallo. However, if Leeds can produce the funds then a move could be on.
