Leeds United are aiming to gain some momentum in their transfer dealings this week as they seek to add to the four new players they have already brought in this summer with a couple of midfield additions.
The Whites have strengthened their defence with more depth and signed a striker in Lukas Nmecha, on a free transfer this summer. However, the club are aware more is needed and ahead of their first pre-season game this weekend, Leeds have pressed the transfer accelerator.
Leeds want more Premier League experience and physical qualities in the middle of the park in the top flight next season, and the club have moved accordingly to bring in more midfield depth in the ongoing transfer window.
The Whites have an agreement in place with Newcastle United to sign Sean Longstaff this summer, and have also agreed on personal terms on a contract with Hoffenheim midfielder Anton Stach.

Leeds United aim to sign Sean Longstaff by the weekend

Longstaff has been the long-term target for Leeds this summer as they want to bring in some Premier League experience into their squad ahead of their return to the top flight.
It took a while to get on board with Newcastle, but the two clubs now have a deal in place for the midfielder to move to Elland Road for a fee of £12m plus £3m in add-ons.
Leeds are also pushing to get him through a medical, and while he is still in Austria in Newcastle’s pre-season camp, the deal is moving quickly.
According to TeamTalk, the Yorkshire giants are expecting to finalise the midfielder’s arrival by the weekend.
Longstaff is set to say his goodbyes to his Newcastle teammates soon and return to England to complete his move to Elland Road in the coming days.
A medical is already planned, and personal terms are in place for him to sign a contract with Leeds once everything is formalised.
Striker or goalkeeper next for Leeds?
Leeds seem to be solidifying their midfield with the arrivals of Longstaff and Stach, but the club are in the market for a goalkeeper and a striker as a priority.
However, for now, there is no clarification on who the top target is for Leeds for either of those positions at this stage of the transfer window.
Torino’s Vanja Milinkovic-Savic is admired at Leeds, but the goalkeeper is likely to choose a move to Napoli, and the Whites have been linked with a move for Royal Antwerp’s Senne Lammens.
The striker search also seems foggy as Leeds have held talks with Premier League veterans such as Callum Wilson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and are still hoping to sign Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz despite his £50m price tag.
