Leeds United to join race for Rangers star – he is Premier League quality

Leeds United have already began identifying targets for the Premier League. Daniel Farke and the recruitment team have a huge task on their hands to build a team to survive relegation next season.

Club chairman Paraag Marathe has come out and promised the fans that the team will be backed in the transfer market. According to sources, there could be in excess of £150million available to spend when the transfer window opens. So far, it looks like Leeds are eyeing players from across Europe.

Most newly promoted clubs tend to focus on signings within England – targeting the Championship and Premier League. That strategy did not work well for Ipswich, who were relegated this season.

The club has been linked with goalkeepers, and recently some strikers. Now, it looks like the Whites are set to add more options in the middle of the park.

According to TEAMtalk, Leeds are interested in signing Rangers star Nicolas Raskin. The midfielder is highly rated across Europe, and recently made his first appearance for Belgium. The 24-year old has two goals and seven assists in the Scottish Premiership. Rangers are said to highly rate the midfielder, and value him in excess of £20million.

Nicolas Raskin is Premier League quality

The midfielder made a huge jump from Belgium to the Scottish league and has settled in just fine. This bodes well for how he would fare if he arrived in England. Raskin is a quality player, and if Leeds miss out on him, he could be at another big club in a couple of years.

The 27-year old is a dynamic midfield presence. He does a lot of important things in the middle of the park. At Rangers this season, he ranks fourth for assists, and third for tackles won. Which means he can get stuck in, and is not afraid to deliver than killer pass. Raskin would be the ideal profile for the Premier League, where the intensity is ramped up.
