After significant departures this summer, Leeds United signed a few replacements.

Daniel Farke needed players as he prepared to compete for Premier League promotion once again after missing out last year.

Manor Solomon joined Leeds United on a season long loan from Tottenham this summer. After a string of injuries, the forward took the option of leaving on loan for more playing time after he played just five Premier League games last year.

The 25-year old has not started a game since the win over Burnley in September. Now, Beren Cross claims the winger is now out of favour at the club:

“I think Joseph and Solomon are the only ones you look at on the bench and think they have the quality to start.

“As it stands, there is no room for Solomon on the wings and as you say, if Piroe plays like that there’s no reason to take him out as it stands.”

Solomon impressed on his debut, providing an assist in the 2-0 win over Hull City. The spurs loanee was even awarded Man of the Match.

After the Hull game, Solomon was excited that he had an opportunity for a fresh start at Leeds:

“Quite a lot to take on. It’s been an intense week I would say. But I am happy to be finally here and happy to be back.

“It’s been a long time since I had an official game. I’ll need I think some time to get to my best because I had a tough season as everyone knows with my injury. Now we are going into the break and I am looking forward to playing with the national team and to come back and to continue from where we stopped.”

Will Solomon deal work out?

It is still early in the season, but two starts out of a possible games is a sign for concern. Daniel Farke has not given out any explicit reasons for not playing Solomon but there is clearly something going on. With Daniel Farke reportedly looking at signing another winger, Solomon might find himself back at Spurs in January.
