Leeds United to rival Manchester City for Europa League star – agent confirms transfer talks

Work is already being done behind the scenes as Leeds United get closer to the end of the season. With Premier League promotion almost secured, the club is already lining up targets for the summer transfer window.

There are four games left in the Championship season. Burnley and Leeds occupy the two automatic promotion slots, with Sheffield United five points behind. Daniel Farke’s men could even secure their place in the top flight over this Easter weekend.

If Leeds beat Oxford United, and either or both of Burnley and Sheffield United drop points, Elland Road can start their celebrations early.

Signing players as a newly promoted team is quite a tricky deal. Most players do not want to risk going back down just one season after signing, while others avoid the scenario altogether. This sometimes leads to the promoted club overpaying to sign the player. There is also the prospect where the signings excel and are snapped up immediately after their first campaign.

Leeds have identified Pavel Sulc as a potential target this summer. According to Czech outlet Efotbal.cz, the Whites are among a long list of English clubs eyeing the midfielder. Sulc had four goals and three assists in the Europa League, including one assist against Manchester United.

Sulc’s agent, David Nehoda, recently revealed that his client would prefer a move abroad this summer. He even hinted that one German club have already began transfer talks. Leeds will have a huge task to convince the 24-year old to come to Elland Road. Other recent midfield targets include Sporting CP star Hidemasa Morita.

Pavel Sulc is Leeds’ ideal attacking midfielder

Brenden Aaronson has done a decent job since returning to the club. But his involvement is often limited, and it is clear that he is in the lineup for his work rate and pressing. If Leeds want to add an upgrade to the attack, Sulc is the man to do it.

The 24-year old is a productive attacking threat; he has 38 goals and 17 assists in the last two seasons. This kind of player is not often available to clubs like Leeds United. If the club are intent of making and staying in the Premier League, Pavel Sulc needs to be a serious target.
