Leeds United to swoop for 21-year-old striker they wanted in summer

Leeds United are expected to bring in a striker in the January transfer window to bolster their attacking options. Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph have been inconsistent and Daniel Farke has placed no faith in Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt this season.

The Leeds board are working to make more money available to Farke in the winter window. They are keen to ensure that they properly reinforce their squad in January to boost their promotion chances.

Leeds are expected to bring in reinforcements to their defence and midfield due to injuries but there are now pressing concerns that they need more attacking depth.

Joseph has scored seven times in the league but only three of those goals came in the starting eleven and he is struggling to be more consistent in front of goal.

Mateo Joseph has scored twice all seasons and Bamford and Joe Gelhardt’s game time suggests that Farke doesn’t rate either of the two strikers.

Leeds have been linked with an interest in Maccabi Tel Aviv striker Dor Turgeman, but the club are considering other alternatives as well.

Hammerby striker Jusef Erabi was linked with a move to Leeds in the last transfer window. The Whites considered getting their hands on him for a fee of €10m but a deal never materialised.

It has been claimed that Genoa are in contact to sign the forward but according to Tutto Mercato, Leeds are again interested in the forward.

The Yorkshire giants have been keeping tabs on him and are keen to try their luck again with regards to taking him to Elland Road in the winter window.

Leeds are not the only Championship club chasing him as Norwich City are also poised to make a move for him in the January window.

Hammerby will have a decision to make if Leeds table a bid for him as a move to England would appeal to Erabi.

The 21-year-old has been in form this season, scoring eleven times in all competitions and is prepared to take the next step in his career.
