Leeds United have been linked with a major attacking signing ahead of the January transfer window.
It has been reported that the main areas Daniel Farke is looking at ahead of January, are the attack and the midfield. Leeds United suffered a huge blow as they lost both Ethan Ampadu and Illia Gruev in the space of weeks. Ampadu picked up a knee injury in September against Coventry City. Gruev also got injured in the next game against Norwich. Now it looks like both players may be out until January.
Despite having the second best attack in the championship this season with 24 goals, it has felt like the opposite at Elland Road. Out of all Leeds attackers this season, only three players have scored more than three goals in the league.

Leeds United linked with former Liverpool star
This season, Leeds fans have heavily criticized Brenden Aaronson and Joel Piroe for their performances. The fans called for Piroe to be dropped after his performance in the loss to Millwall, and Aaronson has been labeled “just a runner” despite him having very important contributions this season.
The team have lost a lot of creativity after Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter left for the Premier League. Because of this, the club have targeted Ryan Kent. The 28-year old is currently a free agent after leaving Fenerbahce a few months ago. Don Goodman has said that Kent’s signing could help boost Leeds’ promotion chances:
“Leeds have been hit by injuries this season and it’s about covering all bases for them in signing players who will help shoot them up the Championship.
“Leeds need to build on what they have, which is arguably the strongest side in the Championship, and you’d imagine they’d be certainties to finish in the top two if they add another player.
“Ryan Kent was a high-level operator in the SPL and was sought after by some top clubs during his time at Rangers, so the talent is clearly there, but I’m not sure if that consistency is still there – why else would he be without a club?
“There’s always a balance to be had. If a player is out of form but used to be good, do you gamble on that?”
Kent could be the missing piece in attack
In Ryan Kent’s last full season he provided eight assists and created nine big chances for Rangers in Scotland. His run in the 2021/22 Europa League was why he was one of the most sought after players in Scotland, if he does join Leeds United, they will have a serious player on their hands.
