Leeds United transfer blow – Argentinian star in shock U-turn

Leeds United are aiming to add more quality to their squad before the transfer window closes on Monday night. The Whites want to bring in more attacking impetus into their team as they look to add more goals and creativity to the squad in the coming days.

Daniel Farke’s side have looked lacklustre and short of ideas in the final third at the start of the season. Aware of the problem, the Leeds manager has been pushing to add attacking quality as the summer transfer window ticks towards its close in the next few days.

Leeds are in advanced negotiations to sign Brighton attacking midfielder Facundo Buonanotte on a season-long loan. The 20-year-old star had other offers on his table from big European clubs, but he chose Leeds once it became clear that the Seagulls would prefer to see him at a Premier League club.

Farke would prefer to sign two attacking players before the transfer window closes, but after Buonanotte’s arrival, Leeds may need a sale late in the window to afford one more player before the transfer window closes on Monday night.

Leeds United target Nico Gonzalez is set to stay at Juventus

Nico Gonzalez was expected to leave Juventus all summer as the club needed his sale to sign one more winger before the end of the window.

Leeds are among the clubs that were monitoring the winger in the ongoing transfer window, and he was seen as an experienced player who could add real quality to the Whites squad.

However, Juventus director Damien Comolli has revealed that the winger will not be leaving the Serie A giants before the transfer window closes on September 1st.

He was quoted as saying by Fabrizio Romano: “In my view, Nico Gonzalez will stay with us as talks are not advanced at this stage.”

He added that talks are not as advanced as the club would have liked for Gonzalez, with just days left in the summer transfer window.

Leeds do not need Gonzalez

The Whites have moved forward and are set to sign Brighton attacking midfielder Buonanotte before the end of the transfer window on Monday night.

With the 20-year-old on the cusp of joining Leeds, the club do not need another player who can play in the wings and number 10 in the team.

Gonzalez is a player Leeds looked at earlier in the window, but it seemed the deal was too hard to secure, given Juventus’ financial demands.

If Leeds sign one more player after the Brighton star, it would likely be a striker, given what Farke has been demanding over the last few weeks.
