Leeds United are in the market for two strikers, and the club are expected to spend considerable money on one of those striker targets as it is clear the club want to add more goals to their squad ahead of their return to the Premier League next season.
The Whites have signed six new players to bolster their midfield and defence. Former Wolfsburg striker Lukas Nmecha joined early in the summer on a free transfer and has been heavily involved in pre-season as Leeds have a paucity of strikers in their squad ahead of the new season.
Patrick Bamford has been told to find a new club, and Mateo Joseph has handed in a transfer request to move on from Elland Road this summer. Joel Piroe is the other forward in the squad at the moment.
Leeds have identified Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz as their primary target, but the club are tracking other forward targets, and one of those players is still available for a transfer in the ongoing transfer window.

Leeds United target Josh Sargent has rejected a move to the Bundesliga

Josh Sargent is expected to leave Norwich City this summer, and Leeds United have been tipped to sign the forward in the ongoing transfer window.
Leeds boss Daniel Farke remains a keen admirer of the United States international and is said to be prepared to reunite with him at Elland Road.
However, it seemed he could be on his way to Germany after Wolfsburg were in advanced negotiations to sign him from Norwich for £20m this summer.
But according to Pink Un, Sargent has opted against moving to Germany and has rejected the offer from Wolfsburg.
A move to the Premier League appeals to him, and apart from Leeds, Burnley hold an interest in the Norwich City striker.
The Canaries are aware of the Premier League interest, but only Wolfsburg went close to matching their valuation of Sargent this summer.
The forward is training with Norwich City at the club’s camp in the Netherlands, but is expected to leave before the end of the transfer window.
Leeds could turn to Sargent towards the end of the window
For the moment, Leeds are focused on doing a deal for Rodrigo Muniz, but the negotiations with Fulham are going to be tough because of their £50m asking price.
Leeds are hopeful that Fulham will agree to negotiate and accept a lower fee, which would still be a club-record fee for the Whites.
However, the Whites are expected to sign one more striker apart from Muniz before the end of the window, and this is where Sargent could become an option.
But Leeds are not expected to get anywhere close to Norwich City’s £20m valuation, and it would have to be a cut-price option.
