Leeds United have confirmed the signing of six players this summer. There is still a lot more business to be concluded in the coming weeks.
Fans of the club were surprised when they noticed a trend with most of the club’s summer signings. Leeds had recruited a bunch of players with height and size on them. Jaka Bijol, Lukas Nmecha and Sebastiaan Bornauw were all 6ft or taller. Farke explained that the emphasis on physical qualities is to help the team survive in the Premier League:
“Of course, if you join the Premier League and you have one of the smallest groups, you expect that probably there is more pressure on you than was perhaps in the Championship,”
“You have to make sure that you are also good at defending crosses. Also more corner kicks, more wide-area free kicks against us. It’s important to be really, really good and strong.”

Mainz to use fee from Leeds United transfer
Leeds completed the signing of Anton Stach from Hoffenheim on a four-year deal earlier this summer. Stach was coming off the back of an impressive season, which saw him rank highly among defensive midfielders in Europe.
The deal was completed for around £17.4million last week. He became the sixth signing of the window for Leeds.
German club Mainz reportedly have a 10% resale clause on Stach, which means they will benefit from the fee Leeds United have paid.

BILD have also revealed that Mainz have another resale clause on Crystal Palace star Jean-Phillipe Mateta.
The report claims that the Bundesliga side are hoping for a club to pay a big fee for the French international this summer. Mateta had a great season last year, scoring 17 goals as Palace won the FA Cup.
The 28-year old is currently in pre-season with the Eagles, as no concrete move has been made for him this summer.
Leeds need a striker of their own
Leeds United are still in the market for a center forward this summer. After recruiting enough players to bolster the defence and midfield, the attack needs addressing. Just one addition has been made so far, with Lukas Nmecha joining on a free transfer.
With Patrick Bamford and potentially, Mateo Joseph gone, a new striker is priority. The club feel that Rodrigo Muniz is an attainable target, despite Fulham being keen on keeping him this summer.
