Leeds United transfer plan revealed – Mateo Joseph not going cheap

Leeds United have been rocked by the transfer request filed by Mateo Joseph, who has refused to join the club’s pre-season training camp in Germany. However, that has not deterred the Whites who have taken a firm stance on selling the striker this summer.

The Whites came into the market with the knowledge that they would need to sign a striker to add more goalscoring threat to their squad ahead of return to the Premier League. They have been considering several targets, but Joseph’s transfer request was not part of their plans.

Leeds allowed the forward to enjoy an extended break this summer as he played for the Spain Under-21s at the end of last season, but the forward was expected to join pre-season training with the rest of the squad this week.

The Whites rejected an offer from Real Betis last week, and did not want to sell the forward this summer. However, all that changed this week when Joseph requested to leave the club and he wants to return to Spain in the ongoing transfer window.

Leeds United have clear demands before they could agree to sell Mateo Joseph

Joseph wants to return to Spain, and a move to Real Betis appeals to him. However, Leeds rejected an offer of loan deal with an option to buy from the Spanish club last week.

According to Spanish sports daily AS. the Yorkshire giants have a clear transfer plan when it comes to the future of the Spanish striker at Elland Road.

Leeds are ready to sell the striker, but a club will have to offer a deal worth £13m before they can sign the Spanish strikers in the ongoing summer transfer window.

The other option the Whites would be open to is a simple loan deal that would see Joseph leave Leeds on a temporary basis for just one season.

Real Betis are nowhere close to meeting those demands, and are interested in paying anywhere close to the figures Leeds are demanding at the moment.

The Spanish club would be interested in signing the striker on loan, but it would have to include an option to buy.

Joseph has no future at Leeds

The Spain Under-21 striker’s decision to boycott training has drawn a line in the sand and he has no future at Leeds under manager Daniel Farke.

However, Leeds do not want to adhere to the striker’s pressure tactics and allow him to leave for a lower fee, and want to extract the maximum amount.

One way or the other, Joseph will not be at Leeds at the end of the transfer window, but Leeds do not want to set a precedent by letting him go on the cheap.
