Leeds United Transfers: Gelhardt set to leave as club eye £4m bargain

Another week of transfer rumours circling around Elland Road, as Leeds United prepare for the January transfer window.

Leeds fans are anticipating a busy transfer window in January, with a lot of absentees in the squad. Star duo Ethan Ampadu and Illia Gruev are still out injured, and are expected to return by January. Austrian defender Max Wober has returned to action, coming on as a substitute on Wednesday. But the club was hit with bad news as Sam Byram was subbed off as a precaution, with the medical staff suspecting a hamstring tweak.

Farke expects a ‘quiet’ window in January unless something significant happens:

“Not much is ongoing as I also expect I pretty quiet January. Of course, we have to stay awake in case there is a big injury like we had for example with Ethan and Ilia, we had to react a bit spontaneous so for that, behind-the-scenes our recruitment and scouts are more or less looking at every position.

Despite the Leeds boss’ comments, there are still rumours at Elland Road. Let’s give you a round up of the latest Leeds United transfers.

Joe Gelhardt set for January exit

The 22-year old has not been named in a matchday squad since the Bristol City game in October. Gelhardt has not touched the pitch since the Norwich game at the start of October. The youngster is reportedly concerned about his lack of gametime and is willing to move in the January transfer window. Reports claim there are multiple clubs from the Championship ready to pick up the forward, as well as Belgian and Scottish clubs.

Leeds United star rejected big summer move

Rasmus Kristensen recently revealed that he turned down a permanent move back to Denmark in favour of joining Frankfurt on loan in the Bundesliga. The defender has been on loan away from the club in the past two seasons, and is very likely to leave Elland Road when his loan deal ends next year. Frankfurt have an option to buy Kristensen and are keen on signing him on a permanent deal.

Leeds eye £4m bargain

Leeds’ search for a midfielder have lead them to a teenage star in Scotland. Graeme Bailey reports that the club are interested in Motherwell youngster Lennon Miller. The Scotland youth international has two goals and four assists in the Scottish Premiership this season.
